Telur Puyuh | Quail Eggs

Beberapa minggu sebelum ni di Instagram sis tertengok someone post Sambal Udang dengan Telur Puyuh. Terus terliuq dan2 rasa nak buat.

Lepas dua tiga kali trip ke Pasar Malam barulah jumpa dengan akak yang jual telur puyuh. Sis grab satu. RM5 je dapat lebih dari 10 biji.

Telur puyuh dibungkus bersama sekam padi untuk elak pecah

This is how my children reacted when seeing Quail Eggs being boiled.

They thought that after boiled , the quail birds will popped up! So innocent.

After finish boiling, while peeling off the egg skin, I asked the older one "What do you think you will found inside this egg?"

And he said , "toys!"

That day I used up most all the stoves I have in the kitchen to prepare the 'Sambal Sotong with Telur Puyuh' (Spicy Squids and Quail Eggs)

Chillies  for my sambal being cooked next to the Fried Fish
Cleaned Squids

The main stoves used to cook my sambal to perfection and to fry my Muhammad Fish (he doesn't eat sambal).

And the additional stoves I used to hard boil the Quail eggs.

After boiled, the eggs will be peeled of and put into the finished sambal along with the squids.

Here is the finished dish :
